Smolyan Lakes

Short description:

The Smolyan lakes are one of the most picturesque natural attractions in the Rhodope Mountains. Located at the foot of Mount Snezhanka, there were once more than 20 lakes, but today only 7 are preserved. They offer a unique opportunity to relax in nature and magnificent views.

What to see?

• Smolyansky Lakes Dam — the largest of the lakes where you can ride a boat.

• The eco-trail by the lakes — a scenic route that reveals incredible views.

• Flora and fauna — an opportunity to see rare plant species and waterfowl.

• The best time to visit is spring and summer, when nature is most alive.

• Wear comfortable shoes if you plan to walk around the area.

• The area is suitable for picnics, but observe cleanliness and preserve nature.
